The scrubber in the biological desulfurization scrubber can make the pollutants in the waste gas contact with the water on the surface of the filler, and then be absorbed by the water and transferred into the liquid phase. When the scrubber absorbs the washing liquid of the waste gas components, it flows into the activated sludge pool, and then it is regenerated after being aerated with air. The absorbed gaseous pollutants are removed from the liquid phase by the activated sludge suspension through microbial oxidation, The liquid phase in the biological scrubber process is mobile, which is convenient for adding nutrient solution, buffer and changing liquid to remove the surplus products.
Different composition, concentration and gas volume of gaseous pollutants have their own effective biological purification system. The biological scrubbing tower is suitable for the treatment of the waste gas with small purification volume, high concentration, easy solubility and low biological metabolism rate; the biological filter bed can be used for the waste gas with large gas volume and low concentration; and the biotrickling filter bed is better for those with high load and acid substances generated after the degradation of pollutants.
Packing is set in the bio tower reactor, and the waste gas contacts with the packing after being oxygenated. The waste gas is purified under the double action of the biofilm on the surface of the packing and the activated sludge between the packing space. Most of the microorganisms are fixed on the surface of the packing in the form of biofilm, while a few of them are suspended in the water in the form of activated sludge. Therefore, the biological tower has the characteristics of both activated sludge process and biological filtration. It is a biological treatment process with the main function of biofilm process and the role of activated sludge process.
